Jamie grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. A country where rugby is extremely popular among all ages and stands as its national sport. He started playing rugby from a very young age and his passion for the game started from the fields in his hometown of Mt Roskill.

In 2009 Jamie had been accepted for a rugby scholarship for Rissho University, in Japan.  Moving to a foreign country had its many challenges, but the love for the game and a willingness to try a new experience had made the transition much easier.

Post Graduation 2013. Jamie signed with the japanese company P.S.I based in Tokyo. Currently still signed as a professional athlete, most of his time is spent training with the National’s 7s rugby squad.

Jamie has played in many Asia sevens series tournaments, and also on the HSBC sevens world series. Japan now having qualified for the Rio Olympics 2016, Jamie has been working towards this goal for the past three years. It is his dream to compete in the olympics and play the game of 7s and represent Japan.
